Ahead of its time. I heard from a friend that seeing this at a drive-in theater was the way to watch it, figure that's probably true as long as the sound is over FM &/or with a decent sound system. Too bad the sequel doesn't hold up as well as this.

I remember that...it was definitely one of those "get high first" movies.

They even had that in the movie. Remember Mr. Happy? ;)

*scene aboard MSS MGTOW*
Electronics officer: "Captain, Morgu, sir, western civilization now requires all men to live with a woman!"
Captain Morgu: "Diving officer, submerge the ship. Make your depth 3-5-0 feet..."

Funny thing about garlic, it keeps away three types of blood suckers: mosquitoes, vampires, and human females.

I remember that I skimmed a couple of the french comics translated into German in the 80ies and 90ies - Moebius and Bilal and their ilk, sci fi and tits - teenage mind blown.

I remember the sound track. Don Felder's contribution still needs to be listened to at 11.

I didn't actually watch the movie until years later when Encore showed it one night. Definitely would have helped if I'd not been sober!

John Candy did one of the voices for that movie. Clearly, he was running out of crack money that month.
