haha, that's a little big for me, but it looks nice.

Looks to me like a .44 mag or .454 casual

Yes. It's a Mod.2 9mm subcompact. It replaced the older model XDSC I have from the original post.
Carries about the same, but has a better grip. I put better sights on it (IMO)...Ameriglo CAP. Trigger feels the same after thousands of dry firings, but I plan to get a PRP kit when they release it later this summer to get closer to that 1911 trigger feel.

Cylinder doesn't look large enough to hold six rounds of .44 to me. 5 rounds, yes.

Brother has an S&W .44 Magnum and it is larger then this revolver.

I gotcha but that cylinder is way too long for .357 magnum.

It's a .460. http://www.gunauction.com/buy/10124828. That revolver can also fire 454 Casull.
However, you are correct in that it is a 5 round.

Here is a pic of my sw 357's and 44 for comparison

My P320 Compact 9mm. Want to pick up a couple more mags so I can have 2 for the range and 2 for hp rounds.

New AR15 pistol build.
Image
Upper was purchased assembled from BCM. I added an un-fired BCM bolt carrier group I had laying around, Raptor charging handle, HK style iron sights, and a Strike Ind. polymer ejection port cover.
Image
I milled out the lower with a drill press and assembled everything myself. Overall, the build went very well. I hand-fit a few parts like the Strike Ind. bolt catch. I went through 2 detents and clipped a few coils off the spring, but the selector lever clicks nicely from safe to fire and vice versa now. The take-down pins don't click as positively as I would prefer...but they are tight, while still operable by hand (extended pins). The Geissele Super Tricon trigger is niiiiiice.

This is the one I always wanted. I had previously settled for a 14.5" LW mid-gas with a pinned BattleComp...which was also damned nice (flat shooting and pretty light). But if I just had one, this would be it.

An Inforce WML is planned for the near future (6 o'clock mounted on that bottom rail section).
I will see how competent I can get with irons from point blank to ~200yds. And will add a 2MOA micro RDS if necessary.

EDIT: Fits in a backpack and counts as a pistol, so I could conceivably EDC this thing.

I'm about to get my license and I am also going for the Glock 19. Here where I live is legal for sport shooting and there are enough shooting ranges around, but it is illegal to concealed carry. Nevertheless I will be ready in a 'shit hits the fan' scenario

Thanks!

Here are some new pics. New iron sights (they're actually polymer) and I caved and got a red dot.

Re: EDC (Every Day Carry) - and Trump

Postby BeijaFlor » Thu Nov 10, 2016 2:22 pm

This thread looks good for a refresh ... and a good-news refresh, at that. I found this on Breitbart this morning:

National Reciprocity A Reality Under President Trump

With president-elect Donald Trump headed toward a January 20, 2017 inauguration, one thing is certain–national reciprocity for concealed carry will have a friend in the White House.
On September 18, 2015, Breitbart News reported Trump’s conviction that “concealed carry…is a right, not a privilege.” He used a policy position paper to explain that national reciprocity needs to succeed, saying:

The right of self-defense doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway. That’s why I have a concealed carry permit and why tens of millions of Americans do too. That permit should be valid in all 50 states. A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right – then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege.

Trump’s support for national reciprocity coincides with HR 923; a national reciprocity push from Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and Representative Marlin Stutzman (R-IN-3rd). The push is a major facet of Gun Owners of America’s (GOA) plan not simply to hold ground, but to expand the territory held.

One more reason to smile when we say "President Trump."
