it doesn't move and it should: WD40.

If it moves and it shouldn't: Duct Tape.

that said, is there still any *real* Duct Tape to be had? it seems that, compared to 10 or 20 or maybe 30 years ago, the current stuff sold under that name - even the 3M stuff - is just this stringy fucking garbage that won't even tear right.

The modern imported stuff does seem rubbish.

The best I have found goes by the brand of 'gaffer power'. Made in USA.

^^^ Maybe try the Gorilla brand duct tape--I've had good results with it.

The Gorilla stuff is funny because it feels like it's not very stick but when you stick it to something - low and behold, it sticks.
