I figure taking an online course for a couple of years for a degree in a field I can actually use to better myself first, make money second, would be a decent enough idea if someone else is picking up the tab.
My main ideas for what to study center around what's needed, with or without modern society. What I come up with is beans, bullets, bandaids and bourbon. I don't really expect to fid a job based off of my degree if I ever get it, as being single I don't need to earn that much. My main interests lie in actual labor as opposed to doing paperwork all the goddam time and tending to mouth-breathing infantile plebs.
Slight rant aside, knowledge that could be useful wherever I go relate to food, medicine, mechanics, electronics and manufacturing.
My MOS at the moment is radio technician, so I troubleshoot, change batteries, make/splice cables, install shit into vics or wherever officers and SNCOs want then and fight with the supply system(to include bribing clerks). The worst itself isnt that terrible and oddly enough I actual enjoy productive days, as rare as those are. Hwevrr I'm not entirely sure he that will transfer over to the civilian side and I don't want to limit myself. Even if I do end up doing this same shit when I'm out I want to know I'll be able to jump ship when needed and be able to support myself wherever I go.
I'm leaning towards any science that has to do with food since someone has gotta know how to grow it, raise the animals, process it/cook it and make the booze, so at present a degree of some sort in agriculture may not be a terrible idea or some related field. If anyone has any ideas on what to study it would be appreciated, as I'd like to have as many bases covered as I can when I get out
"Progress is like a herd of pigs. While the herd has many benefits, one shouldn't wonder at all the shit"
"We are the cleverest monsters, and we deserve everything we've got coming"
"Side? I am on nobody's side, because nobody is on my side"
